How to be the next Steve Jobs?

T
The Crazy Ones
he easiest (or the literal) way to be Steve Jobs is to imitate his dress up. Go to a nearest clothing store and find the following items:

·                              Black mock turtleneck

·                              Faded blue jeans, and

·                              White sneakers

Let me simplify this for you. Get the following brands:

·                              St. Croix Sweater

·                              Levi’s 501 Blue Jeans

·                              New Balance Running shoes

There are dozen other things you need to do: Be a pescetarian (vegetarian who eats fish); sometimes experiment with an all apple diet (Jobs did that because he thought it might allow him to stop bathing. He stank). Drop out of school. Do not attend the colleges. Go for the spiritual adventure. Do Drugs. And the list goes on…. Oh wait, one more thing, walk barefoot when you go on a walk with someone (in case of Jobs, Bill Gates and Gil Amelio).

Now who am I kidding to? Just trying to be like Steve Jobs doesn’t make you him. He is a LEGEND. (Vh1) Get with it. In the words of Kurt Cobain, “Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.” Well, trying to be like Steve Jobs is not about following his footsteps one-by-one. It’s about his implicit principles and approach to what he does. And again, you don’t necessarily need to follow those principles. However, following is the list of things that can help you get on with your life and success as Steve Jobs did:

Get Busy: Roll up your sleeves and get to work straight away.

Start from the scratch. That’s what Steve Jobs did after returning to Apple in 1997.

    Don’t take guesswork.

Ask yourself this question: If it wasn’t for money, how would you do something?

    Never Compromise.

    Don’t give up!

Don’t be a bookworm. Read other journals and magazines.

    Be rude. Be firm.

    Engage in intellectual combat.

Develop a sense of humor. A good sense of humor.

Develop your presentation skills. Be the soul of the session or stay home.

    Get down with details.

    Don’t be an emotional douche.

Be mysterious. Learn to keep the best part secret until the moment is in your favor.

    Be a Renegade

Reveal a “Holy Sh*t” moment.

Have a backup plan. For instance, don’t date only one woman. Date several of them so you would not run outta women.

  Make it look effortless.

Prepare. Prepare. Prepare. Jobs used to spend several weeks for his keynote presentation.

Lastly… Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life. Jobs only took $1 as his salary from Apple Inc.

A word of advice: Formal education makes you a living; Self-education makes you a fortune.

Stay hungry, Stay foolish.
