Drawbacks of
Playing Football
There
are a lot of merits to the body and mind from playing football. One feels
energetic and physically fit through this game. This also increases the
creativity as well as the challenging force inside the himan body. But it is
important to know about the black hole postulate about the game football.
The
contemporary prevailing rule that a player can hit his opponent by his elbow
turned out to be much dangerous along with the change in the umpire’s role in
the ground. The action of hitting in such way was considered as foul when there
was no ball. Since the players were allowed to push the goalkeepers whenever
they held the ball, they preferred punching the ball most of the times until
1892. On 24th March,
1894, “The Lancet” published an article explaining the drawbacks of playing
football. In reference to an article written by a doctor, the foul during an
action of heading may emerge to be dangerous, much likely to be life taking in
some critical situation. It is nothing but an inhumanity to try to knock down
the opponent unnecessarily. Also, the striking of the heads of the players in
precarious way during heading is harmful for both. Since the football rule had
iven permission for such actions at that time, the game used to be much
dangerous.
The
similar prediction happened in 1896. On November 23, Arsenal’s Joseph Powel, in
the match against Kettering Town, tried to kick the ball which was coming from
very high. During this action, his leg reached as high as his opponent’s
shoulder. Powel then fell on the ground as he lost his balance on one leg.
Consequently, his arm was broken. There was a deep fracture inside the bone.
Due to lack of advanced medical technology in late 19th Century, he couldn’t get proper
medical treatment due to which his bone resulted in infection as a few days
later, Powel died, at an early age of 26……..!
Therefore,
football could be dangerous. I wanna make all the football players aware of
such dreadful accident in the ground. Good Luck folks…..!
