The Day Nepal Stood Still!

hould this post even be written? By now, the whole world must have come to know about the Earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25th, 2015 (Saturday) at noon--11:56 am. The magnitude of the quake was 7.9 Richter Scale. By the third day, the death toll due to this quake hit 4000.

Dharahara (Earthquake Aftermath)

This earthquake is unlike anything the world has ever seen. Even Japanese must be surprised by this. The series of after-shocks that has been felt are not following the trend of earthquake. There has been unpredictable change in magnitude of the shocks. More than 100 shocks have been felt in Kathmandu Valley. There are multiple epicenters. The historical tower of Nepal "Dharahara" or "Bhimsen Tower" which was nine storey tall is now left with only about nine feet of its part. What's tragic is that the day when the earthquake hit was Weekend and there were over a couple of hundreds booked to go up the tower. The stats are still to come.

The whole world is now focused on Nepal now. Massive streams of Relief and Donations are flowing in from many countries. But the question remains... How is the fund being utilized? The presence of the government has not still been felt as it should have been. However, we don't expect much from government. It's helpless. Most of us surviving on our own. We have come together to help ourselves.

The only one that is helping us is GOD. God Help Us.

May our 'political leaders' now learn from this and help themselves.
