MPA 515 Global Governance
Course Objective
The course is designed to familiarize and acquaint students with the fundamental concepts, theories, mechanisms, issues and challenges of global governance. Similarly, the course introduces students with the roles of global institutions and regionalism in the contemporary international relations. The course also aims at exposing the students to the emerging global issues and challenges to acquaint understanding and create awareness of the situations that the present world is facing. By the end of the course, students should have a basic understanding of the various aspects of global governance.

1. Introduction of Global Governance: Global Governance: Concept and actors; Theoretical overview of GG: Realist Theory, Liberal Theory, Constructivist Theory, Neo-Marxist Theories: Dependency Theory and World System Theory.
2. Foundations of Global Governance and the United Nations System: The state system; Multilateralism in the twentieth century; The League of Nations; The United Nations: Foundations, purposes, principles and structure (Principal Organs); Role of the United Nations in Global Governance.
3.
