CDSC to launch Official Meroshare App

Official MeroShare App

Better late than never, the Central Depository System and Clearing LTD (CDSC) has announced it’s official version of mobile application for MeroShare. MeroShare is the online portal of CDSC that provides the clients with the details of share transactions with their Demat account. Till date, CDSC allows this service only through their MeroShare website. The news of CDSC to launch MeroShare App has been received with great excitement in the share market of Nepal.

No Official App for MeroShare, till now!

There is no officially released MeroShare App till now. However, there has been an instance where a fake “Mero Share” mobile application was found in Google Play Store, which impersonated the official web portal of CDSC. The fake app gave the impression that it was the authorized app of CDSC. The statistics showed that the app was downloaded over 1000 times. Like in the web portal, the app asked the users to login using their Meroshare ID and password.

CDSC to launch MeroShare App soon

Now that CDSC has officially announced its official Meroshare App, it is expected to be launched within this September. The app has been successfully tested for its functionality and it will embed all the features available to the user on CDSC MeroShare Website. Both the Android and iOS users can download its official version from their respective play store and app store upon release. Nepal’s Stock Market is gradually catching up with the technology, though the pace is painfully slow.

Even during this COVID-19 pandemic and government imposed lockdown, NEPSE indicators are showing Bullish trends. Market experts claim that this trend will be continued and a record breaking level is expected this time. Even when most of the business sectors are affected due to pandemic and lockdown, investors are excited which is obvious from the massive over subscription (by 148.56 times)  in the latest Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) of Samaj Micro Finance Ltd. IPOs are lucrative investments in the present context in Nepal.

With online facility of IPO application and trading, more investors are expected to enter the market  in near future. Even the Secondary Market is received with great enthusiasm since more than 70,000 investors have been trading via NEPSE Online Trade Management System (TMS). However, most of the investors are novice, often investing their money based on rumors and gossip which can be deadly. Knowing to read the charts and analytics can help to make wiser decisions.

When in doubt, think Warren Buffet.
